(10/20/13 Edited to include the books where you can find the items discussed in this entry)
The strange alchemist tracks you down again, her shoulders hunching under an even heavier bandoleer. It seems that she wants to talk to you again about the value of alchemy. If you choose to listen, she will have this to say:
"I hope that I did not leave you the impression that Alchemy is mainly about blowing things up with fire.
That's not to downplay either the precise science or the satisfying rush of seeing an explosion of your own creation blossom before your eyes, like a phoenix emerging...ahem..right...
"Back to the topic at hand. Alchemy is not only about blowing things up. It is also the science of healing and preventing misfortune. Alchemy can help you resist almost every horrible condition that a Pathfinder's career has to offer.
"Why, during my adventures in the dread dungeon of Bonekeep...well, let's just say that my companions were
all quite happy that I brought a full complement of alchemical preventatives.
"First, I have a quick question for you. Which of the following do you enjoy experiencing:
A) Disease
B) Poison
C) Mind Control
D) Paralysis
E) Nausea
F) None of the Above
"If you answered F, then congratulations! You are probably reasonably sane and don't worship one of those creepy evil deities or lords of the Lower Planes who make a portfolio out of such misfortunes. And, in that case, let me direct you to alchemy's answer.
A) For Disease : Antiplague!
B) For Poison: Antitoxin!
C) For Mind Control: Meditation Tea!
D) For Paralysis: Twitch Tonic!
E) For Nausea: Soothe Syrup if you planned ahead! Wismuth Salix if you didn't!
"And the best part is, Alchemy isn't magic, so it works perfectly together with magical remedies! Don't worry if your sweat turns chalky or your tongue becomes black. If side effects do not resolve within 24 hours, please see your local alchemist."
