Periodically, during the month of March, we will hold a trivia contest at one of the gaming venues in the region: Pandemonium, Comicazi, The Garage, Hobby Bunker, and Compleat Strategist. Please check out Warhorn to see when and where each week’s contest will be held.

Congrats to Peter Cole for winning February's "Explore, Report, Cooperate" contest! His entry, Elanora, is a half-elf cleric who has a high Wisdom (explore), Profession Scribe (report), and the Luck Domain to boost others (coorperate).
Hello all,
Though she now resides in the Pacific Northwest, we still consider Linda Zayas-Palmer one of our own! She's approaching the games needed for her fifth GM star and would like a survey sent out to get feedback! So, for those of you that have had the pleasure of gaming at one of Linda's tables, I ask that you take a minute or two to fill out this quick, 7-question survey! The results will be collected in a little over a week, on November 12. Survey link: Linda's 5-Star GM Evaluation and Feedback Survey Thanks, David Montgomery Hello all! We have officially hit autumn, and many of you know what that means: Convention season is starting! There are many conventions offering PFS for players to get around to. While some of the dates (like those going into 2015) below may still be in flux, here are the dates as best I know them! More may be added, so stay tuned!
Council of Five Nations, October 10-12 (Schenectady, NY) - Registration is now open for CoFN. See their website here: http://www.swa-gaming.org/council For those of you that haven't been to this convention before, it takes place in a GORGEOUS theatre, with plenty of room to play. The people there are friendly and there's a lot of food available in the area of the convention! They will be featuring Bonekeep 3, as well as Season 6 special Legacy of the Stonelords on Saturday evening. Warhorn sign-ups are located here: https://www.warhorn.net/events/council-pfs-2014 Remember, you must register for the convention as well as sign up on Warhorn, so be sure to get that handled! Carnage on the Mountain, November 7-9 (Killington, VT) - Carnage on the Mountain takes place at the Killington Grand Resort in Vermont. There will be lots of gaming over the weekend, including Season 6 special 6-00 Legacy of the Stonelords! Website: http://www.carnagecon.com/ AnonyCon, December 5-7 (Stamford, CT) - AnonyCon will be taking place at the Sheraton Stamford. AnonyCon is an annual game convention that brings people together to have fun, help charity and showcase new games, and will be rounding out 2014 as one of the last cons in New England for the year. Website: http://anonycon.com/ Arisia, January 16-19, 2015 (Boston, MA) - Arisia is our first Boston Convention of 2015. If the last two years have been any indication, I expect plenty of enthusiastic people to show up and play! The convention is held at the Westin Boston Waterfront, next to the Expo Center. TempleCon, February 5-8, 2015 (Warwick, RI) - TempleCon is a large miniatures and gaming convention in Warwick, RI. The sheer amount of steampunk there was more than enough to blow my mind! The convention will be held at the The Crowne Plaza hotel in Warwick. Be sure to preregister for the convention, so you can sign up for PFS events when they're announced! Website: http://www.templecon.org TotalCon, February 19-22, 2015 (Mansfield, MA) - TotalCon is one of the gaming largest conventions in New England, and when TotalCon comes around, it's Total Confusion! Gamers take over the Holiday Inn Mansfield and have a ton of fun for a few days! Of course we'll be offering the Season 6 Special, Legacy of the Stonelords, as well as hoping to offer Ruins of Bonekeep! Last year, we were on the cusp of running 90 tables, and we're hoping to do more this year! Triple digits would be amazing! TotalCon's website: http://www.totalcon.com/ And that's just the start of it! We've got conventions after that! Looking forward to another year of conventions, and seeing all the lovely people there! David Montgomery Hello all! The lovely people behind putting on TotalCon every year are having an end of summer event, and PFS is lucky enough to be participating! The event will be help on September 21st, at the Holiday Inn Mansfield (the same place the larger TotalCon is held) in Mansfield, MA.
Tickets are $15 at the door for the whole day, but are only $10 if you pre-register! Pre-reg is available with PayPal to email address [email protected]. Please leave your full name in comments section. If there are any issues or someone doesn't have access to PayPal, please contact Michelle Graham at [email protected]. We have a wide array of scenarios offered for PFS, so hopefully you will come out and join us! I'm also on the lookout for GMs, so if you'd like to run a game or two, please let me know! To help kick off the start of Pathfinder Adventure Card Game Organized Play, we're also offering demos of the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game! Demos are for players new and experienced to come learn about the new Skull & Shackles set, and play a few rounds! 8AM-12PM 6-01 Trial By Machine [1-5] 5-19 Horn of Aroden [1-5] 5-13 Weapon in the Rift [5-9] Quest: Silverhex Chronicles Pathfinder Adventure Card Game 12:30-4:30 5-21 The Merchant's Wake [1-5] 6-02 The Silver Mount Collection [3-7] 6-03 The Technic Siege [5-9] Quest: Silverhex Chronicles Pathfinder Adventure Card Game 6-10PM 5-22 Scars of the Third Crusade [1-5]5-99 The Paths We Choose [3-7] (Hopefully run as a multi-table event) Pathfinder Adventure Card Game Warhorn for the PFS games at: https://warhorn.net/events/totalcon-end-of-summer-sizzler-pfs Hope to see you there! -David Congratulations, Mark Seifter!
Check out this link: Meet Mark Seifter For those of you that weren't aware, Sean K. Reynolds stepped down as game designer for Paizo. Mark applied for the job and was accepted as the newest designer for Pathfinder RPG, and has moved to the Seattle area to start his new job. His girlfriend and co-VL Linda Zayas-Palmer has also moved with him, and I wish them luck in this new chapter of their lives! On a personal note, I just wanted to thank Mark and Linda for working so hard to get Boston PFS to where it is today. When I first started playing, there were only four or five people showing up at Pandemonium, and not always on a regular basis. In my very first session, I had the pleasure of having Linda turn half of our party into monkeys and have the rest of us fear anything remotely foggy. Mark was very encouraging of my horribly ineffective dwarven cleric who could do nothing but ask "Do I heal now?" as Mark's character got tossed around by a crocodile and a sorcerer peeled back his eyelids and stretched out his arms a lot. With their work, we've gone from wondering if we'd get three or four people to play each week, to trying to figure out how to split three or four tables a week. Your presence will be greatly missed. I know a lot of players in the area are voracious consumers of Pathfinder rules and/or lore thanks to watching you two and what you can do with it. You will most definitely be missed. Feel free to stop by and join a game! Mark and Linda moved a little over two weeks ago. Those of you at Pandemonium may have wondered why they haven't been around. Well... surprise! Mark and Linda told a few people about the possibility of this happening when Mark was applying for the job. Some of us have known that he got the job, but we've been trying to keep a lid on it for privacy reasons, and not to spoil Paizo's big reveal in the official blog post. For those of you that already knew, thanks for keeping a lid on it! With that said, it's only logical that with Mark and Linda on the other side of the country that they will no longer be VLs of the region. In the two weeks since they've departed I've been toiling and scheming behind that scenes to get another Venture-Officer for the Metro Boston region. Well, guess what? I've found one! You probably know him if you've played around the Metro Boston area. He's the one, the only... Ray Diaz! He's been a great help in organizing games already at the Garage, as well as GMing quite a bit at Pandemonium and Comicazi. Welcome to the team, Ray! With that said, there is still room for more venture officers. We could use more VO presence in New Hampshire, as well as Venture Lieutenants for the upcoming Pathfinder Adventure Card Game Organized play, so if you are interested in helping out in any of those regards, please let me know! Thanks, David Montgomery VC of Boston Lodge PFS Rejoice! For in June comes a gamer holiday most joyous. One filled with merriment and swag, one in which you go to your FLGS (Favorite Local Gaming Store for those new to the term), and once there you can get your mits on some free product and probably play something new. Be it a demo of a new system or a special module for your favorite system (most assuredly, that of Pathfinder) fun is sure to be had by all. Or perhaps you’ll be antisocial and just stick with something cool to read, regardless, it is not a day to miss. On June 21st all around the Boston Lodge a number of local retailers will be offering Free RPG Day.
What does that have to do with Pathfinder Society you might be asking yourself, or perhaps asking the person peering over your shoulder while reading this? The offering from Paizo for this most important of holidays is, Risen from the Sands. This Free (yes, you read that right) RPG Day Module being provided to you by Paizo will be run at most of the locations which will be hosting festivities on Free RPG Day. This is a level 3 adventure which allows you to either try out four of the new classes from the Advanced Class Guide (Bloodrager, Investigator, Swashbuckler and Warpriest) or bring an in tier PFS Character to get the personal experience. Also if you are lucky and get there before supplies run out you might just be able to take a copy home with you. Now you are asking yourself, where can I go to get one of these nifty Modules? Well have I got an answer for you! Below you will find a list of stores that have confirmed their participation in Free RPG Day. Noted within the list are those that are also running the Module, with the times of said module running next to the Store listing. You are very welcome. They were exceptionally generous to us at bostonpfs and gave us free coupons for $30 compendiums of all their pdfs detailing player options, mini-adventures, and special rules.for each of the Jade Regent, Kingmaker, and Carrion Crown Adventure Paths. We didn't wind up giving them all out at Totalcon, and the coupons expire on April 1st. So what does that mean for you?
We're now having a contest! You can win one of the remaining coupons. Even if you are not playing one of these APs, there are a bunch of player options in the Jade Regent and Carrion Crown compendiums (at least $10 of pdfs worth in each). Tell us a gaming story on the forums in the Roleplay subforum. If you're playing or running one of those APs, make it from that. Otherwise, just pick something suitably Gothic (for Carrion Crown), Far Eastern (for Jade Regent), or frontier/kingdom related (for Kingmaker). Label your thread with the name of the Adventure Path you are looking to win. We will choose two winners for each AP compendium (and at least one will be random for each, so it always pays to enter). But remember! The coupons themselves expire on April 1st, so enter ASAP. A small number more of these free $30 pdf coupons will be showing up at bostonpfs events near you this March, likely as GM prizes or for other feats of giving back to the community, so if you don't win the contest, don't despair! Hello everyone,
I hope your year is off to a great start. It's that time, once again to bring notice the many GMs that help keep the lodge running! We have several new stars floating around, and many are getting brighter. Linda Zayas-Palmer has been a mainstay at Pandemonium Books and Games since the beginning of PFS in the region, and she has reached her fourth Star! All the way up there in Maine, Joshua Goudreau has earned his first star! Joshua has been a pillar in the growing Lewiston/Auburn PFS community, so it's great news to see him get a star. Now that they've run GM 101 up there, maybe he can get some more help and actually get to play some of his characters. Pointing a little south of Boston, down in Kingston, MA, James Milne has earned his first star. I met James at Medieval Starship in Kingston during their Game Day event last year, and many of the new players commented on how easy he made it to learn the starting rules. Congratulations to James! Now there may be a LOT of incoming new stars. Ray Diaz, liaison at The Garage near Harvard Square, is 5 tables of credit away from 4 stars! Not to be outdone, Erik Oparowske is 5 tables of credit away from his fourth star! Be sure to check out Pop Culture in Raymond, NH and see all the stuff Erik carries in his store and stop in for a game. Their Facebook page will keep you up to date on their latest news. Both Roger Sidebotham and Scott David-Gray are two tables of credit from their third star! Be sure to cheer them on when you see them! Tyler O'Neill, has been working hard at Stillpoint in Fall River. He's 5 tables of credit away from 3 stars. Stillpoint has games there almost every Saturday. If any of you are in the area, I highly advise you check them out! Scott Romanowski, liaison for Tabletop Arena in Lowell, is only two tables of credit away from his second star! He's also done a great job of promoting PFS at the store. Robert Foran, a GM at Stillpoint down in Fall River, is halfway up Two-Star Hill! He's got 10 more tables of credit to get before he can get his second star. Evan Martinez, liaison at Harrison's Comics in Salem, MA has been working hard too. He's at ten more tables of credit until 2 stars. Matthew Servideo, a frequent at Harrison's in Salem, is only two tables of credit from getting his first star! He's also scheduled to run a game today, but is lacking on the sign-ups. If you're interested, be sure to sign up! Thanks to all of you for making the lodge as GM-packed as it is. Players, be sure to tell these guys how much you appreciate them! David Montgomery VC |
